Sea Life Bray

Last Wednesday, the group set off on the DART for Bray to visit the aquarium, Sea Life.

The first and second crews arrived at 11 oclock and gathered in the Mess Hall. They signed in and handed in there money for the dart, sea life and the chipper. We left the club at about 20 past 11 to get the DART. Elly went ahead of the group to pay for all the tickets. We got on the DART and began our journey to Bray. When we arrived at Bray DART we walked towards Sea Life and arrived there at about 12. We went inside and our tour started.

We saw lots of different types of fish, the first tank we saw had tropical fish in it. We then saw a tank of piranhas and we learned that if you fell in the tank they actually wouldn't eat you. We saw lots of various types of carp including the smallest type the gold fish.We went through the tour and came to a touching pool, we touched anenomes and a starfish. We learned that a starfish doesn't have a brain, if there legs get cut off they'll grow back. We also learned that they eat by taking there stomach out through their mouth and wrapping their stomach lining around the food. If they eat somthing bad , to prevent them from becoming ill they detach their stomach and it will grow back in 6 weeks.

We moved on and saw a Giant Atlantic Octopus. It was playing with a lid and we talked about Pete the psychic octopus who had died a few days before. After our tour we went through the giftshop and back outside. Leah, Cormac and Elly headed down to the chipper to check out price and the rest of the group followed them down. We sat down in the chipper and all had a yummy lunch. When we had finished our lunch we headed back to the DART station. Our DART came at 10 passed 3 and arrived back at the club at about 4. It was a great day :)
