Linda Arrives

Linda

The new boat Linda has arrived in Dun Laoghaire but we are unable to upload any more pictures as it is a diffult task for Windows 7 to handle at the moment.

On Saturday, the 28th of November, Lewis, Keith and Jim sailed STV Linda from Carrickfergus to Carlingford Marina in a trip that took over 16 hours.  They left Carrickfergus after prepping the boat & equipment at 10.30am.  Rory had the task of dropping them to the boat at 6am that morning and towing back the empty trailor, as the trailor is more of a boat yard trailer than a road trailer.  At midnight, Kyron collected them from Carrickfergus Marina and returned to Dun Laoghaire for 3 am, a long day for the crew.

The weather window finally opened up again on Thursday the 3rd of December to continue with the second leg of the trip from Carlingford towards Dun Laoghaire.

This time, Kyron transported Jim, David and Alex to Carlingford Marina for a departure at 9 am in an urgent attempt to run ahead of some more heavy weather that was due again in the next 24 hours.

12 hours later, at midnight, the boat radioed the club and advised Kyron that they were at the Harbour Mouth and "starving. Over."

With this information on hand, Rory, living closest to the Chinese, was contacted and by 1am we were all sitting down to a hot meal.
