On Tuesday 30th June we loaded on to the Launch and set off for Killiney Bay.

We all took a kayak from the container and set off. Amy collected us in the caribe and dropped us at the Launch where we settled down for a comfortable journey.

Leah, Saoirse, Ailbhe and Lucy snook up onto the roof and had some fun trying to see the dolphin spotted in Killiney a few days previously.

We all agreed that instead of being dropped out to our kayaks that we would swim instead! Cold but certainly refreshing.

We were called in from our splashy time to have a lovely lunch. Some of us sat on the bow and on the roof as we headed home.

We all said that we had had such a great time that we agreed to make the next day longer until 7 o'clock.

On Wednesday we had a longer day and so set off for Dalkey Island.

We all put our paddles in the air when Amy dropped us to our kayaks. Some clambered less gracefully than others into their kayaks.

We set off into the wind and around the island. Where it got choppy at the top. A lot of fun but very tiring.

We had a well deserved lunch afterwards.

Then we had a nice tour of Dalkey Island guided by Aoife.

While on the Launch, Kyron caught a 15 inches long pollock!

On Thursday, the weather was quite bad so the kayakers headed out with Aoife and Leah to do a survey of the harbour.

We started off at the East Pier checking the amount to nitrate in the water and the different types of seaweed and fish there. As we came to the end of the East Pier, the HSS had docked and we were unable to cross the Harbour Mouth safely for a long time.

On Friday, the weather picked up and the sun shone brightly.

 The kayakers paddled around the back of the West Pier and met the Launch at the end. After a nice lunch we got very wet while jumping off the Launch!
