Dalkey Island Junior Cert. Camp

On Sunday the 21st of June, the junior cert exam students went camping on Dalkey Island, these are a few of the photos of their night.

The Campers left the club at about 8:30 on Sunday evening after loading all their sleeping bags, food and barbeques into the launch.

They Travelled out to Dalkey Island in the launch with a Caribe on tow to ferry everyone and everything to and from the island both in the evening and the morning.

It was a nice day for the campers and the rain held off for the evening. After they got all their things on the island they had to find a nice place to pitch their tent . Then they could cook their food on the disposable barbeques.

Alice drove the Caribe with her crew Florence to get Kyron off the launch and have their barbequed burgers.

Everyone was very hungry after pitching their tent and really enjoyed the food cooked by Ella.

They had burgers to eat and a selection of drinks to share around as the burgers where cooking. After everyone had eaten Kyron returned to the launch were he spent the night fishing and the campers went exploring with torches before returning to their tent for the night.

After a long sleepless for some night in an eight man tent the campers woke up and lit another barbeque where they cooked their morning breakfast of sausages, before taking their tent down.

After their breakfast they took the tent down and packed everything away after a long struggle. Then they went and visited the goats which were very friendly and said hello to them.

Sharon came to visit the campers while they were sunbathing and swimming on the slip way.

Ella, Aoife and Leah went for a quick dip in the morning to wake themselves up while Florence, Alice, Amy and Kyron got a suntan.

Leah was the first in the water and was trying to get everyone to join her in the lovely "warm" water.

Everyone was feeling lazy and enjoying the sunshine, wishing they could stay on the island forever .

They returned to the club at about 4pm after their camp they were all wrecked and went home to their showers and beds.

Everyone really enjoyed their camp all thanks to Kyron who organized it for them, and are eager to return to the island.
